Mission Statement
The mission of the Charter Township of Shelby Fire Department is to reduce deaths, injuries, and property loss from fire, hazardous material incidents, emergency medical situations, and other disaster/emergency by being proactive in providing excellent, state of the art, pace setting, life and property preservation and emergency services in a professional and cost effective manner, unhampered by tradition while recognizing and treating our people as our most valuable resource and the key to our success.
STFD News
On Apr 7th, 4 new members started their careers here at Shelby Twp. Fire Dept, and Local 1338. Firefighter/Medics Jason Bailey, Don Burke, Robert Muylaert, Chris Wilseck filling vacant positions left over from retirements/promotions.
Robert Muylaert joins STFD from Frasier FD, and Richmond-Lenox EMS.
Don Burke started in the Fire/EMS service in 2002, and recently was employed with the City of Pontiac Fire Dept.
Jason Bailey is joining us after a short stay at Pontiac Fire Dept. Jason has also held positions as paid on call firefighter for Lenox and then Macomb Twp.
Chris Wilseck born and raised in Shelby, and following in his father’s footsteps is happy to join the ranks. Chris has previous experience in the field from working as a paid on call for Utica, and a short time as a fulltime on St. Clair Shores Fire.
We welcome these new members into the Department and into the Union, and look forward to a long and prosperous career from them. Welcome.
