The Shelby Township Fire Department offers advanced life support ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you need an ambulance call 911.
Shelby Township Fire Department will respond in a matter of minutes from one of our four fire stations around the township. You will receive emergency medical care provided by the most experienced Paramedics in Macomb County.
Our ambulances are staffed with at least 1 Paramedic and 1 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensed by the State of Michigan. We carry all the equipment necessary to care for the sick and injured including:
3 Lead EKG (the same type used in hospitals) for monitoring heart rhythms.
Defibrillator paddles to "shock" a heart back into a normal rhythm.
Accu-Check for checking blood sugar of patients with diabetes.
Medications to treat various medical conditions.
Spinal immobilization equipment. Splinting equipment for broken bones. And so much more.
If you call for an ambulance sometimes a fire engine will respond with the ambulance to assist you. Our fire engines carry medical equipment and at least 2 Emergency Medical Technician's (EMT's). Frequently the fire engine will be staffed with 1 or 2 Paramedics. Sometimes the fire engine will arrive before the ambulance depending on the location of the incident.

There is a $20.00 course fee which will cover all expenses. |
Payments are accepted in the form of a check or money order only. Please make payable to the Charter Township of Shelby. |
